The wedding ring theory comes from the Chinese tradition,people believe since most people are right-handed,the left hand isn't used as much. It is also rooted in a belief that marriage is the strongest and most important bond of all.
Another school of thought also states that a vein known as the vena amoris or the vein of love,ran directly from the heart to the ring finger on the left hand.This connection between the hand and the heart indicates that wearing the ring the fourth finger is a symbol of love between the couple. Some medical experts did not agree with this school of thought they said veins flow on all fingers which is why some countries like the Philippines wear their wedding rings on the right hand, fourth finger...
